ICCR Student Visitors Programme: Fostering Academic Excellence & Cultural Synergy in Varanasi

Marking a significant milestone in India-Bangladesh educational diplomacy, the 25-member Hindi language delegation from the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka, undertook a comprehensive academic and cultural visit to Varanasi.

Unlocking Living Heritage

The delegation boarded the Alaknanda cruise for an experiential study of Varanasi's riverfront. By exploring historic architectural sites and observing traditional rituals, the students gained deep insights into the region’s unique culture and spiritual heritage.

Academic Engagements at Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

The academic segment of the tour focused on institutional capacity-building and pedagogy. The delegation engaged in a productive dialogue with Prof. Rajkumar, Head of the Department of Hindi, and leading language scholars, exploring modern workflows for Hindi language acquisition.

Most notably, the delegation paid a formal courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of BHU, which served as the cornerstone of the visit to discuss future academic collaborations, strategic joint research initiatives, and formal student exchange pathways. Through the Student Visitors Programme, ICCR continues to cultivate strong academic synergy and youth leadership across South Asia.
